Siberian Pea Shrub (caragana arborescens): Large nitrogen fixing shrub that produces copious amounts of small edible peas and beautiful yellow flowers. The peas are very high in protein and well suited for poultry, livestock, and wildlife plantings. Extremely hardy to zone 3. Mature shrubs reach 10-15 feet, about as big as a lilac.

This bush has kept Russian peasants alive during times of famine. Every chicken yard should have at least a few of these bushes.
