Currants & Gooseberries
Currants & Gooseberries
Currants, jostaberries, and gooseberries are easy to grow shrubs that can thrive and produce berries in the sun or shade. They can be eaten fresh, dried, or used in sauces, juice, jellies, and a lot of other preserves. Black currants have gained popularity in recent years because of studies showing high levels of antioxidants and vitamins. Red currants are beautiful, tart and tasty decorations for desserts and pancakes. Both types have been used extensively around the temperate world.
Our currant varieties are considered immune to white pine blister rust, however WPBR is a rapidly evolving fungus. To learn more, read our article on WPBR.
