Goji Berry (Lycium Barbarum)

Gojis are fast growing viny shrubs in the solonacaea family (same as tomatoes). They are native to the Far East and have naturalized in several parts of the Western U.S., especially in arid regions.

The berries are delicious when dried (but not so good fresh). They are highly prized both in China and in the U.S. Their health benefits are on the scale of legendary. Gojis are also called Life Berry and Wolf Berry.

In Asia, where gojis have been cultivated for centuries, the leaves are eaten as a cooked green.

Goji berries are self pollinating.
