Siberian Pea Shrub  Caragana arborescens

Large nitrogen fixing shrub that produces copious amounts of small edible peas. Although Russian peasants have survived on these in the past, we find them too small to use in our diet. These shrubs are well suited to a poultry or livestock pasture where they can rain down high protein feed year after year.
