Osage Orange (maclura pomifera)

Seed collected here in upstate NY. Fast grower, extremely durable wood, thorny trees are the basis of old fashioned living fences. Large inedible fruits relished by squirrels, smell like oranges.

Each fruit contains several dozen seeds.
