Sorrel (rumex acetosa)

A tasty perennial green, sorrel comes up every spring well before any other greens are ready. It is very hardy and does not mind frosts after its leafed out. Sorrel has a nice lemony flavor and is a great addition to salads and soups. We regularly snack on it as we're walking by or working in the garden.

We originally obtained our sorrel from a friend's garden. It does not bolt- ever. It stays small and produces abundant clusters of fresh greens from early april until the fall. 

The plants we send you are bare root crown divisions. They are just one small crown and will not look like much when you receive them, but after only a few weeks they will begin to leaf out and grow. They become fully established after only a couple months in the garden.
